Blue n Sunny

Hi people,
Well I guess we all must have noticed the weather has been annoyingly hot, like blazing hot and we have to pick comfortable outfits that would be good for this weather and not ending up all nude and still keep your colours.
Speaking of colours, the brighter the colours the less the heat. Dark colours tend to attract more heat and makes us stuffy.
Most definitely most of us would want to hangout during this hot and extremely sunny weather and we have the big problem of what to wear.
Sometimes our usual pair of jeans may make us uncomfortable, so would our usual tees and our tank top or vest top would be a usual routine we might like to change.
Then what can we wear?
Hmm…
Here are some simple looks we can easily wear this season…

Here was a look I worked out:

... Red with Love

Today I write with my beautiful pen from the fountain of love… or how does that line go again? Hmmm… anyways it’s the season of love once more, when some are extremely excited and wondering what their loved ones would give them or where they would be taken too while others see as just another day or please let it never come.
Valentine, some people call it ‘the legal season of love’. I don’t think that day should only be celebrated by lovers. I believe we should always appreciate what we have, who we have and where we are; this should be the true meaning of valentine.
Well it’s the time to have that little touch of red for some or go all out red.  There are different ways to put in that little touch of red this season and not making turn out as a disaster.
Here are some looks for this season:

ADIRE!!!

ADIRE! ADIRE!! ADIRE!!!
It means 'tie & dye'. It was first applied to indigo-dyed cloth, this is usually done by people in south western Nigeria (Abeokuta and Ibadan), and this practice is also done in Mali. Some people call it the 'vintage textile'. It is done to come out in various colours, patterns and designs.

Adire took the center stage a while back especially among lovers of traditional wear but gradually faded out in the mid 90's. Adire has now come back to light because now we can afford to sew whatever we want and are not restricted at all, this is what gives us joy, *no restriction*.

Adire has also been seen as an accessory in the home and in the wardrobe like; pillow cases, hand bag, purses and even for gadgets such as the Ipad.

Well, I was able to sew a skirt with my Adire adding another touch of vintage to my wardrobe.
Here it is...

Thank You so much.

The Hide Out....

Hello,
I bet we always want to impress our peers (especially as girls). When we are given aso ebi, we always want to come out classy and practically want to make heads turn at the event or basically be that lil center of attention.
Well what happens when your tailor makes a mistake or a default that can't be hidden?
What would you do? How would you feel? Not forgetting you have to go or your friend throws a mad tantrum or might not want to talk to you again.
In most cases we would just simply look for something else to where or make up a lame excuse which most of the time doesn't work, then we are good to go.
Wait!!!
There's a lil solution which would work in most cases depending on where the default is. I call it
'The Hide Out’
well you could pair your defaulted aso ebi with a sweater, jacket, scarf or pasmina and for little defaults brooch or beauty stones.
Well I was a victim but was able to pull through using a belt & sweater:

My First...

Hey hey,

Well this is gonna be my first post, as u know...yaay!!!

My blog is basically about fashion (yes I know you know that already) but I'm gonna make it a little out of the ordinary, this is where 'my styling skills' come in *wink*.

Here we would play with and combine colours not forgetting fabrics to, that is our African prints aka 'ANKARA' and others, try to combine things we normally won't think of and see what pops out (hope good, lol).

I'm here to play with fashion through the use of colours but at the same time be serious with it, through styling.

Y?
